When did the BBQ Start?

This year will mark our 30th Annual Kiwanis Salmon BBQ held at the Historic Hillcrest Lodge.

Can I help at the BBQ?

We love volunteers! As they say “many hands make light work” and that is definitely the case with our Annual Kiwanis BBQ. Without the help of over 500+ volunteers, including other local Kiwanis groups and community members we would never be able to host this great event year after year!

If you are interested in volunteering at this year’s event please visit our volunteer’s page or contact kiwanisbbq@gmail.com

Where do the BBQ proceeds go?

Each spring during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon hosts a salmon BBQ at the Hillcrest Lodge in Mount Vernon. And while the perfectly grilled fish and delicious sides make this a great event, the best part is that EVERY CENT of this effort is returned directly to youth and community programs here in Skagit Valley.

So come April and Tulip time, make sure to stop by the Kiwanis Salmon BBQ and have a wonderful meal and help support one of the many programs listed below in the process!

Kiwanis Supports:

  • Boys and Girls Clubs of Skagit County
  • META
  • I Can Fly Program
  • Camp Orkila (Centennial School)

Is there any way to avoid the traffic?

Traffic is very heavy in Skagit County during the month of April as the Tulip Festival is happening. Plan for patience and extra time to reach your destination! Of course weekdays are generally a bit slower than weekends.
