The Kiwanis Club Salmon Barbeque is an official Skagit Tulip Festival Event. Each April the Festival attracts visitors from around the world, as well as many local patrons. In 2019, approximately 13,000 came to Hillcrest Lodge to eat during the event.

The event has been held in the community for 69 years to raise funds for local youth and charitable work. In that time, we have served over 292,000 meals and given back over $2,000,000 to the community.

Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon has been serving the community since 1924. The Salmon Barbeque is the Club’s primary fundraiser. The net proceeds provide scholarships to local youth, support Boys and Girls Club, Friendship House, Mount Vernon Parks and other organizations. In 2024, KCMV is slated to donate $110,000.

We are Green! In 2019 we opted to reduce our carbon footprint and be a positive change by composting. All of the paper goods are compostable, with the exception of the ice-cream bar wrapper. While it costs a few cents more per meal, it has made a positive impact in our community.

Contributions to support KCMV’s service mission can be made directly.
