Al Roberts – 2023 Prayer Breakfast Speaker
The Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon is excited to announce its 2023 Skagit County Prayer Breakfast honoring elected officials and leaders will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon. Doors open at 7:00 am, buffet at 7:30. Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club and State Representative Dave Paul ,Vice President and Professor of Skagit Valley College, are pleased to invite you as our guests to Annual Skagit Community Prayer Breakfast.
This year’s speaker is Al Roberts. Roberts has 40yrs experience in Coaching and Guidance with emotion and demonstrative techniques which proved invaluable within the College and NFL Coaching Staff of Oilers, Eagles, Jets, Cardinals, Bengals, Rams. Ae had a go with the UW Huskies. In the 11 seasons of coaching Experiences his teams advanced to numerous Bowl Games including 3x Rose – Sun – Aloha – 2x Holiday.
– Mental Coaching has been acclaimed by many to have brought the biggest comeback in NFL Superbowl History in the Hawks-Packers 0-16 that sealed Hawks’ victory in the last play of OT.
– Born in 1944, Al and wife, Arvella have 3 Sons, 1 Daughter, and 4 Grand Daughters. He attained a BA from Puget Sound. Young Al played Football in High School and later, contributed to the Sport within UW, Puget Sound, Purdue, Florida Tuskers, High Schools – Mercer, Garfield, and currently O’dea High School.
This short but powerful event that lifts one another up across Skagit County. Established in the spirit of the National Prayer Day to honor and pray for elected officials and appointed leaders, it’s history goes back to the early 1980’s. The Prayer Breakfast is open to everyone.
Recommended donation $20 per entrant for the general public.
